Michael Jackson should be #1, plain and simple. Bob Marley should have been in the top 10. Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff should have both been on the list.

    In your world, yes sure.
The beatles (as a group) were around for about a decade. M.J. had 3 & its arguable that he hasn't paralleled their worldwide impact. Even he was influenced by them, covered some of their work & bought their catalouge.

Not sure why Bob Dylan would be so high on the list....or Led Zeppelin over Jimi Hendrix. Otherwise the list isn't too bad.
Yea, Cliff & Tosh should be there...but as a whole, they're not as well known as the pop stars listed. And VH1 is a pop music station, nothing more.

Cah Bob Dylan was a great song writer Chimino, maybe not a great singer though IMO. "Knockin On Heavens Door" an "I Shall Be Released" were covered a few times by reggae artists for example.

This list is a joke (as usual with these lame ass lists). Justin Timberlake beats out Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, etc when he basically made a career out of biting Prince and Michael Jackson. I've always felt he is a hugely overrated artist-especially considering he put out two solo albums and basically just disappeared from music so he could focus on his pathetic acting career. Same can be said for Beyonce making that list and ALMOST making the top half of the list. Again-beating out the likes of Little Richard, Peter Gabriel and KISS.
