Confused1 LIME usb modem in Jamaica???

How much people on here use LIME (B MOBILE / C & W) usb modem and or know someone who does????

I live in Clarendon and wanted to get a Claro modem but none of the shops had any in stock. After hearing the LIME adverts where they claim they are"FASTEST 3G NETWORK" I got the last usb modem available in May Pen.

FIRST PROBLEM - I got home to find I was only getting speeds of between 40 to 70 Kbps. As anyone knows this is 'dial-up' speed . I called LIME only for them to tell me that they only offer 3G in Kingston and they have no idea when the rest of the island will get it. I SIGNED UP FOR 2 YEAR CONTRACT.

    2. I went to Kingston with my laptop and modem only to find I got the same speed. When me call LIME them ask where I was then say they doing work.

    3. Me decide to work with it only me fly out last month and reach back 2 weeks ago to find the speed cut further to max 15 Kbps. Me go to the store and them tell me is the sim card. So me buy a replacement only for me to see a max of 20 Kbps

Me cancel me contract same rass time and just top up me Claro card. Does anyone else have any stories good or bad about these usb modems???

    Wanted to know....

i was tempted to go get but after many experiences, the only proper internet speed is CABLE

also what does "FAST" mean? to the average user? my cable internet is sloooow, like 8Mbps, BB service is supposed to give like 1Mbps so i would assume that the modem would give between 512Kbps to 700+

go back to the ol days of sitting in new kgn ah theif people wireless

also GSM USB Modems sell on ebay

I don't want this to sound like a plug for Claro but I get speeds of up to 1.5 mbps with their sim. Me no really too happy bout them 'Fair usage policy' though

As far as that is concern me top up at 8 pm and by 12 me check through 201 emails, 1812 spam mail, FaceBook, DHR and still had time to download two 1G movies.....

    That works nicely for me.....
