we had a blood drive yesterday at the office and i was constantly hounded for blood...

back in school my ex used to give blood plasma all the time and got $20.00 for each donation. I think it was for some kind of research.

used to but my vein collapses b4 the bag fills. we get 4hrs off when we donated, to be take at any time. (upon approval) so some stack them for full days.

As a soldier, giving blood was like unto my duty, however, because I am anemic, the I ended up not being able to give it.

to think...

i have never donated blood...never been enthused to sit there and have anyone drain me...

but i am a registered bone marrow donor...and that's gotta be a worst experience compared to donating blood...

oh well...the low odds of being a match offers a blanket of comfort...

They said my hemoglobin levels was way too low to be even considered

Unless I wanted to end up in hospital to receive a transfusion...

Proxy, some people are tired, some people faint, some feel dizzy, and some feel fine after....that's why they make you lay on that receiving cot for at least 15 mins after they finish drawing your blood...the cookies and juice are to give you back some energy (brings your blood sugar back up)...and then they let you go.

I can never give blood, because when ever the opportunity presents itself, I will have gotten a tattoo too recently. I believe it has to have been 1 year since the last tattoo.... Something about a Hepatitis risk I think...

This reminds me.. I had this one ex back in school. Whenever her finances go tight she used to go to this lab across from campus and give blood plasma for $20. It got to where she was giving plasma every other week or every week. I'd be like 'damn girl be careful' Never knew what they were doing in that lab.
One thing I was comforted in knowing is that she didn't have any blood disease. They kept taking and taking, and she would fill out the questionare about HIV, hepatitis, etc. run the tests etc. She got me to give plasma once. Told her aint so much $20 can get you.
